Co-founders Elsie and Dominika started out in their kitchens, meticulously crafting DIY beauty recipes with potent natural ingredients. BYBI was founded in 2017 and the brand quickly became known for its efficacious, pro-planet formulas and standout eco packaging.

Fast forward to today, Elsie and Dominika are published authors, trained skincare formulators, podcasters and entrepreneurs who are paving the way for more climate-conscious practices, from ingredients to production and packaging. Their biggest achievement to date is creating the world’s first carbon-negative skincare product, Glowcurrant Booster – a brightening facial oil that captures more carbon than it emits.

BYBI has declared a fight against carbon. It is the company’s goal to be the first carbon-negative beauty brand. BYBI’s internal auditing system, The Susty Score, grades various factors in order to glean an ingredient's carbon footprint and decipher what impact using it in a BYBI product will have on the environment.

All BYBI products are manufactured in the UK, which gives the company the visibility it needs to truly understand the carbon footprint of this part of the supply chain. BYBI uses upcycled ingredients in over half of its range, and it operates a recycling scheme, called ReBYBI.

BYBI does not test any of its products on animals. The company is Leaping Bunny-approved, which means it meets cruelty-free standards over and above legal requirements. All of BYBI’s skincare products are 100% vegan and are certified with The Vegan Society.
