Founder Catalin Zorzini created Earth.fm as a way to share his love for natural soundscapes and ecosystems. Earth.fm draws inspiration from soundscape ecology and the Earth Holder Community created by Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. An Earth Holder works to preserve this planet for living beings by taking care of the air, water and soil.

Numerous studies show that listening to natural soundscapes has a great positive impact on wellbeing and can increase our respect for nature. Earth.fm shares such soundscapes and encourages its community to go out in nature more often and discover a deeper, more direct connection with the wonders around us, which can lead to more wellbeing on both an individual and collective level.

Earth.fm is guided by principles rooted in altruism, scientific evidence and the systemic view of nature. It aims to develop partnerships with local charities in regions where nature sounds are found most valuable and best represent the importance of preserving and healing nature.

Earth.fm does not believe in simplistic targets, such as the number of trees planted, as these can lead to unintended consequences or wasted resources. Instead, it seeks integrative approaches with local wisdom at heart.
