David Chung launched Farmacy Beauty in 2015. At the time, the brand was one of the pioneers of farm-to-face beauty, launching exclusively in Sephora. The business has since been acquired by personal care giant P&G, in an effort to grow its Responsible Beauty platform.

Farmacy has promised to be 100% waste-free by 2022, and has achieved fully recyclable packaging and materials. The brand is working towards ending the use of virgin plastics and it vets all ingredients, weeding out those that are considered harmful.

Farmacy pledges to be an all-round sustainable business, using farm-sourced ingredients. Acknowledging the hunger crisis affecting many Americans, the brand is donating 1.5 million meals through Feeding America and Second Harvest (Canada) to support those most affected.
