Kakimori

Kakimori opened its shop in Kuramae, Tokyo, in 2010 to share the kind of stationery that makes writing a pleasure. The shop is located in one of Tokyo’s old shitamachi (downtown) neighbourhoods, where small manufacturing workshops and factories line the streets.

Kakimori honours feedback and ideas from customers and takes a collaborative approach with suppliers and manufacturers, working together to create products everyone can be proud of.

Kakimori’s stationery is designed for long-lasting use. There’s a refill service for notebooks and ink bottles, and writing tools and papers can be tested before purchase, so customers take the time to get to know their products and are happy with them for life.

Kakimori also explores creative solutions to waste. Its Hagire Project uses production waste to create new products and its seconds-quality paper is repurposed as paper bags.
