ZENB is owned by the Mizkan Group, Japan – a family of brands with a 200-year history dating back to the Edo era. The brand’s European operation has only been going since 2019 and launched in the UK in 2020.
Eastern philosophy might not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of pasta, but it’s exactly what inspired ZENB’s gluten-free yellow pea pasta, which comes in three shapes (because it’s wheat-, not fun-free!). The word stems from zenbu, the Japanese concept of wholeness, and ZENB is all about embracing the whole.
Striving for good
There’s an emphasis on plant wholeness, using as much of it as possible (skin, seed, stem) in the production process to minimise waste and keep the nutrient benefits of the plant.
Ethics
The Mizkan Group came up with the idea of whole plant usage two centuries ago and ZENB is continuing the tradition. We’re still finding out about ZENB, but so far this has a good feel and we hope to see more innovation-making strides in this direction.

The internet consumes a lot of electricity. 416.2TWh per year to be precise. To give you some perspective, that’s more than the entire United Kingdom. From data centres to transmission networks to the devices that we hold in our hands, it is all consuming electricity, and in turn producing carbon emissions.
